Kaisa Mäkäräinen - FIN

“I am trying to believe what has happened, but it is hard to believe. It has been an amazing two days. I am really happy, because the races have been really good. Both of them have been worthy of medals.”
I think it was a lot more difficult yesterday. Today was a lot of fun. I was a lot more relaxed. I felt that I did not have to be perfect today; I could be satisfied with even one mistake. But it was a perfect day, almost like when I first won in Östersund.”
“I did not realize that the lead was maybe 12 seconds. I thought it was much less. I was afraid that she might catch me, so I went as hard as I could.”

Magdalena Neuner - GER

“I thought (the two penalties) it was okay. I have had really good competitions including today and I am only human; not a machine…Everybody can miss two targets…I saw that Kaisa was 8 seconds ahead of me. I knew that I could not fight with her. She is very strong and so am I, but eight seconds is a lot…so I wanted to make a cooldown in that lap and enjoy my Silver medal.”

Helena Ekholm - SWE

It was hard to win. It took two years to get a medal; it feels really good now.”
She admitted that being alone for most of the competition was a trying experience. “It was tough, because I saw no one, but I knew that a lot of people were hunting me.”
