Today is awesome. It's definitely somewhat of a surprise. I haven't really had success in Super Combined in years, so to finally get a win again—the last time I won in the Olympics in 2006—it's a long time coming. I just tried to ski as smart as I could. I tried to have a solid run the whole way down and not make too many mistakes. Seeing the green light at the bottom was a really sweet feeling.

Ivica Kostelic - CRO

I never won a medal at the World Champs in Super Combined and it’s one of my most successful disciplines. For me it’s a confirmation of good skiing in the Combined event. My highlight was the downhill event where I skied really well. Slalom wasn’t that great but I am happy, I am very happy with this silver!

Romed Baumann - AUT
Romed Baumann
I had a really good Downhill run with almost no mistakes and knew that lots would be possible in the Slalom event. I really knew so and this is why I was sure I could make it a medal here in Schladming. It's absolutely great and the fan atmosphere has just been amazing!

Stressful, with four guys all trying for the Gold medal... I was very surprised when they came up on me. Before that, I thought it was between me and Malyshko. I thought that it was over for me when Martin got a five-meter gap on me in the last uphill, after I had a bit of a crash with Anton. But I had some energy left and it worked out...I had a good feeling when I looked to the right at the finish, I thought I had a one or two cm gap on him.
This is a dream and I am very thankful and very lucky...of course the 20K is on Thursday and I am in very good shape, so I will try to win again.

Martin Fourcade - FRA
Martin Fourcade
I am disappointed; it was really hard for me to lose today. I felt very good today. When I saw him in the last meters I knew it would be hard to beat him... I will think about this 2.4 cm everyday when I train next summer.

Anton Shipulin - RUS
Anton Shipulin
This is just a start for our team... a good start. The next time I will be ready to match them.

I never thought I would win until the last stage. I knew I had to shoot clean, but still did not think I would win. Like always, after that, I fought hard all of the way. I will just try to do my best in every competition. After the championships, I can tell you how many medals I will win!

Krystyna Palka - POL
Krystyna Palka
When I got up this morning, I knew I could win a medal. The 2K loop is easy and I know my shooting is good. In the final standing stage, I wanted to take a risk and shoot fast...bam, bam, bam, bam, bam!
It is a really special day for me; it is hard to say what I feel I am happy and want to cry. Today was my day. I took the chance for a medal and it happened.

Olena Pidhrushna - UKR
Olena Pidhrushna
I am happy now. I think I was sad after the two misses. But I said to myself that the last stage would be decisive if I shot clean; suddenly I saw two women on the track that fell and I went past them.
I think the pressure maybe got to me when I missed two targets, I do not have much experience with this pressure so that is why I missed.
