Tarjei Boe - NOR

“To win in the relay with your friends is very special, but this first individual Gold medal in the World Championships has a more special feeling. I was happy to win the relay but when I win alone it is more emotional; a special moment for me.”
“My plan was not shoot so fast today. But on that last shooting, I was very nervous. So I decided that I had to shoot fast so I did not have to think too much. Suddenly the shooting was over and I had five hits; it was a fantastic feeling. It might have looked perfect, but it was not so perfect in my head. I had a bit of luck I think.”
“I was very nervous, especially when Ole Einar and Sumann were shooting, especially Sumann. I was 100% sure that I had lost my Gold medal, but he missed the last shot. That moment was very special for me.”

Maxim Maksimov - RUS

This medal is more meaningful for me than my first one in Östersund, especially since it is in Russia. Our whole Russian team has felt great pressure, because we are supposed to do our best here and get more wins here in Russia.” However he was as confident as his coaches today. “I felt confident that if I shot clean today, I would be on the podium. I did it and am very thankful to our coaches who put me on the team for their confidence in me.”

Christoph Sumann - AUS

“It feels quite good after this long hard season and all of the problems. The first week of the championships was very disappointing for our team. Our goal was to win one medal and it is done now…this is good for me and the whole team…Now we can go one and win some more in the relay and mass start.”
